Lighting Design for Health, Wellbeing and Quality of Light: A Holistic Approach to Integrative Lighting

A White Paper from the IALD European Regulatory Affairs Working Group.

From the Abstract:
Everyone has an individual reaction to light. In general, this paper deals with an average level of reaction for the general population. However, reactions of people who do not form part of the “majority” population have different reactions. This includes the neurodiverse, the old, the very young and people who exhibit photosensitivities caused by disease or previous exposures. All need to be considered in developing lighting design.

2025 IALD European Regulatory Affairs Working Group:

  • Kevan Shaw, FIALD, CLD, C. Eng MILP
  • Ioannis Ladopoulos, Ph.D
  • Chiara Carucci, Design IALD
  • Alexia Gkika
  • Lorraine Calcott, Ph.D IALD, CLD
